Tried another thai restaurant as we couldn’t get through tonight Never again! Was awful compared to our usual Thai Recipe nights. I will never cheat on u again! You don’t realise how good you’ve got it until you’ve tried elsewhere lol

A kind lady told us they could make everything vegan which was a pleasant moment. We chose vegan laksa and vegan red curry. The serving was beautiful! Like in the expensive restaurants. But the price was really attractive! Around $25 for two dishes. Much cheaper than in Sydney. I'd give them 5 stars if they had a clear indication of vegan options in the menu (it had zero vegan marks actually, so we had to ask for it). Anyway, the quality of the dishes was impressive! Definitely will be back when we are again in Picton

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ For A Hidden Gem in Picton – Thai Recipe Café My partner surprised me with a lunch date in Picton, and we ended up choosing Thai Recipe Café — and what an unforgettable choice it was! I’m sure the locals already know about this incredible spot, but if you’re travelling through or stopping by this beautiful little town, you must check it out. From the moment we walked in, the customer service was amazing. Pla, the cook and owner, was so welcoming, friendly, and full of warmth — the kind of hospitality that makes a place truly memorable. We started with salt and pepper calamari, sweet corn soup, and fries, and every bite was packed with flavour. For our mains, we enjoyed the spicy sizzling seafood with pineapple and the BBQ seafood with salad — both dishes were as delicious as they were beautifully presented. But the highlight was the dessert: Pla’s homemade fried ice cream platter, served with caramelised desiccated coconut and raisins. Absolutely divine! We left with full hearts and full stomachs, feeling so grateful for a gorgeous day out. Picton is already a cosy, charming town — and Thai Recipe Café just makes it even better. Highly recommend!

I do see myself as a true self appointed expert of Thai cuisine as it’s my all time favourite :). Having just moved to Picton I was hesitant to find my new Thai joint. We ordered T/A. The team were friendly, efficient and literally only took 2 mins longer than the expected time so no complaints there. Restaurant was packed, not a spare seat! The Penang and curry puffs were spot on! I loved the Penang actually. The Chicken cashewnut was nice and fresh however was basically the flavour of a stirfry and you had to search hard for a nut so not really a typical cashew nut flavour. Pad Thai was ok, a little too heavy on the fish sauce for my liking. I read another comment about the chicken and I do agree however I think it’s because it’s been parboiled and re cooked. The serving size of dished were generous and worth the $. I’ll be back again, I always like to try a place a few times as you can have different results from chefs on different days. Overall, It’s not bad for Picton. Also one last note, it’s CASH ONLY. eftpos facilities would be great. In this day and age it’s just so much easier and now more hygienic to be cashless. Give Thai Recipes it a go.

i ordered pretty much everything on the menu and i have been going there for a year now and let me tell you the food is immaculate and always comes out very hot and you can tell the owner puts hard work and dedication in this lovely place. There is one lovely lady around 14 years of age with blonde curly hair and she is great at serving people and always brings a smile to the table. love this place must go.

Food flavourfull .. Quantity super enough for 2..atmosphere quiet, so you can enjoy your food. And above all very decently priced. Their kids menu is good, my kids finished all wings ,rice and even veges from our stir fry..I loved their wall art.. very friendly and homely atmosphere, big portions, and a dedicated family runs this beautiful Thai restaurant. They were busy with takeaway, probably because it was Sunday evening.. an extra touch of fortune cookies on your plate is very charming. Highly recommend. We ended up doing takeaway as well since we couldn't finish it all.
